This is my story.

I knew who I was from a very early age. For as long as I can remember, everybody loved me. I never knew exactly what it was. I just knew that I had something special: a knack for drawing others in, telling them stories, and making them feel. These gifts gave me what I needed: attention.

After a failed stint as a child actor, I moved with my family from New York City to the Carolinas to join a religious cult. Years later, following my departure from the cult mentioned briefly in the previous sentence, I attended Winthrop University where I studied Mass Communication with a focus on media theory, journalism, film, and content production.

From the ages of 17 to 24, I touched all forms of media by simultaneously working as an advisory board panelist at Tiger Beat magazine, a radio show host at Seacrest Studios, and a librarian for seven years until resigning upon my university graduation.

During my senior year, I co-founded and was creative director for a film and arts digital publication known as Cinésque, where I led a team of nine talented writers and editors. Upon my co-founder’s resignation, I assumed the role of editor-in-chief and continued to lead the collective in their artistic efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The collective officially disbanded in 2021 and Cinésque later became a satirical one-man blog, a playground and digital haven for me to write about whatever I wanted. It is now defunct (slay) because I had nothing of note to say during that time in my life.

I worked briefly as a marketer and copywriter for LPL Financial, and then not so briefly as a hard-news reporter for the Charlotte Observer.

In October of 2021, Devin Lewtan, an entrepreneur and genius media, tech, and internet savant, approached me with a fascinating offer to manage the community for a new company she was building: Mad Realities. Suddenly and most thankfully, I was back in NYC.

For the next three years, I worked as a founding member of the breakout early-stage startup in many roles, starting as a Community Moderator, being swiftly promoted to Community Manager, and then eventually rising to Manager of Marketing, Culture, and Community. My last and final role at the company was Creative Producer. In this role, I was tasked with ideating original concepts for social-first shows. Since being founded, the company has generated nearly 1,000,000,000 views (that’s “one billion” in case you’re too lazy to count the zeroes) across its entire library of shows.

Nowadays, I am just a guy. More than that though, I am the Director of Digital Marketing at the National Board of Review and Chief Marketing Officer at Lore, an early-stage startup reimagining fandom and entertainment.
